Flipboard Welcomes Oprah Winfrey To Its News App

The folks behind the popular Flipboard iPad app have a new contributor: media giant Oprah Winfrey. This is the first time the newsgathering app has created a branded section for a partner on their front page.
The section, simply called “Oprah,” includes content from Ms. Winfrey’s many properties. This includes content from The Oprah Winfrey Show, O, The Oprah Magazine, Oprah.com, and OWN: the Oprah Winfrey Network.
In addition, Flipboard users may access Oprah’s exclusive Farewell Countdown Videos, which are posted each day at Oprah.com. The final new episode of the 25-year-old, The Oprah Winfrey Show airs on May 25.
According to Mike McCue, CEO and Co-founder of Flipboard:

The addition of Oprah is a nice coup for Flipboard, and great news for fans of the media pioneer. The free Flipboard app is available in the App Store.

- Apartment Therapy Chicago – the section that takes you inside some of the region’s coolest pads, many created from limited resources or space.
- Summer Tomato – offering tips and advice about healthy eating, particularly for people in urban areas.
- Charities and NGOs – showcases the work of major nonprofits like Oxfam, the Gates Foundation, Doctors Without Borders, Nature Conservatory and many more.
