iOS Apps Gone Free: Physics Gamebox, Weakest Link: Royal Wedding Edition, DisplayLink, And More

April 29, 2011

Today's AGF list includes a gamebox loaded with physics-based puzzles, an arcade game where you control a deflating bubble, an app that allows you to turn your iPad into a second display for your PC, and more.

All app prices are subject to change at any time and without notice regardless of stated free duration. Price changes are solely under the control of the developers.

iPhone:

Ozone ($2.99 -> Free, 41 MB): Coast around over 50 levels as an inflatable bubble and collect all of the yellow orbs to move on to the next level. Your bubble must release puffs of air to move, which will cause it to deflate, so bouncing off of walls and collecting power-ups is imperative. The game features the ability to create your own custom levels as well.

Ozone is available for free for a limited time. It has a 3.5-star rating with a total of 3 ratings.

PHYSICS GAMEBOX ($.99 -> Free, 16.1 MB): Physics Gamebox includes two of the most popular Flash-based games in one package: Roly-Poly Cannon and Ragdoll Cannon. It includes over 300 levels, simple one-touch controls, and OpenFeint integration.

PHYSICS GAMEBOX is available for free today only (04/29). It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 41 ratings.

Weakest Link: Royal Wedding Edition ($.99 -> Free, 14.4 MB): Find out if you are the Weakest Link in this Royal Wedding edition of the popular British quiz show. It features 10,000 general trivia questions, 1,000 Royal Wedding questions, and 25 simulated players.

Weakest Link: Royal Wedding Edition is available for free today only (04/29). It has a 3.5-star rating with a total of 10 ratings.

Soft Freak Fiesta ($.99 -> Free, 15.4 MB): A multiplayer game where you control little critters called Soft Freaks and go head-to-head in turn-based online battles. Each mode requires you to accomplish something a little different, but the general idea of the game is to fling your Soft Freak across the screen towards your enemies while using power-ups. The game can be played online or locally via Bluetooth.

Soft Freak Fiesta is available for free for a limited time. It has a 3.5-star rating with a total of 107 ratings.

MoMo Dig! ($.99 -> Free, 38.3 MB): The object of the game is to simply dig up jewels, coins, and other objects in order to meet a specific quota before time expires. Before each level begins, you are given three seconds to try and memorize the placement of all of the items, and then just tap to dig them up. The more items you collect, the more GP you are able to spend on upgrades.

MoMo Dig! is available for free today only (04/29). It has a 5-star rating with a total of 7 ratings. Universal:

Pig Rockets ($.99 -> Free, 16.3 MB): Defend your house from the barrage of Pig Rockets by placing blocks, ice bombs, hammers, and other power-ups in their path. The game features eight different maps, the ability to collect bacon to unlock more power-ups and upgrades, and Game Center integration.

Pig Rockets is available for free today only (04/29). It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 41 ratings.

CakeMaestro ($2.99 -> Free, 3.9 MB): An entertainment app that allows you to make virtual cakes, complete with frosting and candles that can be lit and blown out using your iPhone's microphone. After you have completed a cake, you can save it to your camera roll or share it via email.

CakeMaestro is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4-star rating with a total of 5 ratings. iPad:

Ozone HD ($4.99 -> Free, 48.4 MB): Like the iPhone version above, but with iPad-optimized graphics and controls.

Ozone HD is available for free for a limited time. It has a 3-star rating with a total of 245 ratings.

DisplayLink ($1.99 -> Free, 347.3 KB): Allows you to turn your iPad into a secondary wireless display for your PC. It is compatible with Windows 7, Vista, and Windows XP (no Mac support). You can download the free companion driver at the developer's official website.

DisplayLink is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4-star rating with a total of 25 ratings. Developers: If you are a developer who would like to get your app included in our “Apps Gone Free” daily lists, here’s our basic set of rules:
  • It must have at least a three-star average rating at the time it goes free.
  • The app must not have been free numerous times (3+) over the last six months.
  • The free version of your app must not include ads.
To submit an app, simply send a request to tyler@appadvice.com with the subject “Apps Gone Free.” Please include the name of the app, a link to it in the App Store, when and for how long you intend to offer the app for free, and anything else you would like to share. We will take it from there.
