Make Me a Million (Free) by Gareth Vaughan is a simple finance app for people who wish to predict future earnings. The app allows you to calculate how long it would take to earn a target amount of money. Although the app is advertised as a million dollar calculator, it can target earnings from $100 to $1,000,000 as well as do calculations in English Pounds and Euros. There are two options to determine how long it would take to earn a million, “by date” and “by income.”

The by date option calculates how long it would take to earn a target amount of money by a set date. It calculates how much you need to earn each year, month, week, and day to reach this goal. Although this is interesting, I think the by income option is much more useful. It calculates how much time it would take to earn a target amount with a set income. This makes the app much “closer to home,” allowing users to see what they could potentially earn. The app breaks down the earnings required into years, months, weeks, and days.

Make Me a Million is a very simple app, it uses basic math to allow users to find out the time it would take to earn a certain amount of money. Although it is fun to see what you could be making, the app should not be confused with an actual financial planning tool. While it may calculate user earnings, it does not account for any expenses, making it quite impractical.

The final option in the app is “top tips.” Here, the developers included a gag list of other possible ways to earn money fast. While the list serves as comical relief, I find it pointless. So if “picking up 100 million pennies” is not a realistic source of revenue for you, stick to the first two options.

Overall, Make Me a Million is a fun app for users to experiment with their earnings. Although it is not the next Mint, it is a fun app to have in your pocket.
