TomTom for iPhone owners can let out a collective "Woohoo" because Homer Simpson, the iconic cartoon family man from Springfield, is now able to provide you with navigation directions.

You have reached your destination, and you can hold your head up high, because you are a genius!”This marks the first time ever that a celebrity voice has graced a mobile phone-based GPS app. You can make Homer Simpson your very own copilot by heading to the TomTom Shop within the TomTom iPhone app, tapping on the new Voices category, and purchasing the voice for $5.99. We have included a short video below featuring the sample of Homer's voice so you can get an idea of what you're in for. The Homer Simpson voice in-app purchase appears to only be available in TomTom's U.S. apps, including TomTom U.S.A., TomTom U.S. & Canada, and TomTom U.S. & Mexico. All three apps also include brand new map data, so even if you aren't interested in hearing Homer's voice, you should download the latest version.
