Puzzle Quest 2 Finally Gains Multiplayer And Retina Display Support
April 7, 2011
It certainly has been a long time coming, but now you can finally show off your Puzzle Quest 2 skills online while fully enjoying the experience on your Retina-capable iDevice thanks to an update that Namco pushed through earlier today.
Puzzle Quest 2's multiplayer mode allows you to play with a stock character from a specific class, or you can take your own leveled-up hero to battle. No matter which route you take, if you decide to play against a random online opponent, you will be matched up against a player of similar rank. If you have friends who share your love for match-3 RPG goodness, you can also invite them to play online via Game Center, or play locally via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
Multiplayer games can take anywhere from five minutes to over 20 minutes to complete depending on how many hit points each character has, but if you are the one creating the game, you can choose to limit the amount of time each player has per turn.
iPhone 4 and fourth-gen iPod touch owners will also be happy to know that the update added Retina display support along with multiplayer leaderboards via Game Center.
Puzzle Quest 2 for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad is available in the App Store for $4.99. You can check out our review to learn a little more about this unique match-3 game.
