Quirky App Of The Day: iBreakhearts

There are some things better done face-to-face. When that isn't possible, most would agree to try voice-to-voice. Doing it over a text is laughable, but by template? That brings a new low to the situation.
I have enough faith in humanity to say that when anyone has to break up with their girlfriend or boyfriend, they can do it without a fill-in-the-blank app. It's like Madlibs for the relationship impaired.
That's right, ladies and gentlemen, iBreakhearts offers a chance for would-be ex-lovers to send an email or text with an established template. All you need to do is fill in the blanks provided and send it off into cyber space.
Now, don't write me off as a heartless wench just yet. I understand the frustration of trying to find the right words to say in a tough situation. I can sympathize with those who feel intimidated by the enormity of trying to end a relationship. But is there truly a need for someone to put the regurgitated words in your mouth by template?
If you're going to send a text or email to break it off with someone, you already have the chance to write and rewrite it as often as you like. There is no app that sends a follow-up message declaring, "Your ex has edited the previous message a total of (18) times." Take advantage of that and use your own words. Put a little bit of yourself in the last message to them. Save the templates for a drunken night of texting pretend breakups to your bros at a bar. Everyone can buy a drink for the funniest winner.
iBreakhearts is available on the App Store now, free of charge.
