Royalists Will Enjoy Mirror: Wills & Kate A Royal Love Story
April 2, 2011
The royal wedding between the UK’s Prince William and Kate Middleton is the first such event of the App Store age. As such, there are at least 20 apps available covering the April 29 event, including the just released Mirror: Wills & Kate a Royal Love Story.
Created by the UK’s Daily Mirror, the universal app includes ten chapters’ worth of picture galleries, videos, and audio narrated by James Whittaker, a well-known Royal correspondent.
Naturally, the app is centered primarily on William and Kate, the future king and queen, and the story of their romance. However, it also uses as backdrop the story of William’s parents, Prince Charles and the late Diana, Princess of Wales, whose marriage in 1981 became a worldwide event.
Longtime royalists will enjoy the many pictures of William captured through the years, including those with his mother, who died in 1997, and his father, the Prince of Wales.
William’s younger brother, Prince Harry, is also mentioned by use of a series of pictures.
Chapter titles include:
There are other apps available covering the wedding, but this is the most thorough of the mix, in our opinion. For anyone looking for the perfect virtual accompaniment for what many are considering the event of the year, you cannot go wrong with Mirror: Wills & Kate a Royal Love Story. Hopefully, following the wedding, the app will be updated to include photos and videos from it. But, be warned: the app is 183 MB, so be sure to use a Wi-Fi connection when downloading. Mirror: Wills & Kate a Royal Love Story is available for $1.99.
