Shapes Shift And Sabotage With BoxUp HD!
BoxUp HD ($1.99) by Blitpop, lda. challenges your mind and your level of frustration! Designed for the iPad, BoxUp HD will have you addicted in no time. It requires a fair amount of strategy as you navigate through the different shape-changing levels.
To play, move the appropriate shape into the coordinating box. In order to get the shape to stop, you must tap it again, after the move. If the shapes collide, they will change form, depending what other type of shapes they run into. Sometimes this is helpful, and sometimes not. There is a grid at the top of the page, which tells you what the shape will turn into. For example, two triangles colliding will create a square. The shapes appear on a graphic-style note pad, and each shape has its own color. The entry levels are fairly easy, and make you feel like a pro. Then, the shapes begin to sabotage your game. Look out for that sneaky circle that changes the triangle you need into an octagon. This game forces you to react quickly; otherwise some of the shapes will undo all your work. There is no time limit, but the quicker you work, the more successful you will be in moving the shapes to the correct location.
The graphics are colorful and easy to see. The music is definitely thinking music. It reminded me of something you would hear on a trivia game show, like “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.”
BoxUp HD is a very unique and original game. Many of the games in the app store are similar to others, so this brings a refreshing challenge. It currently only works on the iPad, and it integrates with Game Center so you can challenge your friends.
Even if you succeed at making through all 120 levels, replaying them will always bring on a new challenge. If you think you mastered it the first time, the next time around may not be as easy.
Whether you like action or puzzle games, BoxUp HD has components to fit many tastes. This game is very enjoyable and worth the two dollar price tag.
