Sony: Next iPhone To Get Proper Sony-Made Camera

Sony: Next iPhone To Get Proper Sony-Made Camera

April 2, 2011
In an interview this week, Sony's CEO Howard Stringer shared with The Wall Street Journal some interesting details about delays in the production of Sony parts for the next iPhone. By connecting the dots, this has lead the web to find out more about your next iPhone's camera. Sony's CEO let it slip during the interview that one of their factories producing camera sensors was affected by the Tsunami in Japan, and therefore Apple's order for Sony's newest camera sensors has been delayed. This is an interesting development as Apple currently gets its camera parts from Omnivision. Considering that there have been rumors recently about Apple getting a new, 8MP Sony-made camera for the next iPhone, this could very well confirm the rumor. Particularly well-suited for low-light conditions, Sony's new sensors would apparently be a major new feature in the next iPhone. With 8MP, no one should tell you that your iPhone doesn't take amazing pictures. Furthermore, this could explain why we're hearing that Apple will not be launching the iPhone 5 in June. Any thoughts?
