Teleport: The End To Individual Uploads

Teleport ($0.99) by Free Radical Software is an iPhone utility app that allows users to upload photos and documents to Dropbox. Unlike the official Dropbox app, Teleport can upload multiple photos in one go.

This is one of the easiest apps I have ever used. To upload pictures to Dropbox, users just click on the photo icon, and select the photos from the iPhone album. The app will show a preview of the first photo and state “You chose # photos to upload,” if this is correct users simply drag that photo to the Dropbox icon and all the photos will be uploaded. If the photos selected are incorrect, users can clear them out of the upload space.

The app can also upload documents to Dropbox, however the process to do so is different. There is no way to select the documents from the app, instead the app works though Apple’s “Open With…” feature. Users can also rename any files uploaded through this feature, by just tapping on the file name.

Users can also customize where the new items will be placed in their Dropbox folder. To do this, simply tap on the Dropbox folder icon and select an existing folder. Unfortunately, the app does not offer an option to create new folders.

Currently, the app is only available for iPhones and iPods. I hope the developers expand to cater to iPads as well.

Teleport is a very useful app. The ability to upload multiple photos to Dropbox sets it apart from all other upload apps. If there was an iPad version and it had the ability to create folders in Dropbox, I would never have to use the official Dropbox app again.
