Moneybag ($3.99) by Sidney Just is an app that helps you manage your money in an easy to read layout. It is simple to use and provides appealing visual aids that show different financial aspects of your accounts.

You can add different kinds of accounts such as, Paypal, credit cards, bank accounts and even a piggy bank. Once you have set up your accounts, you can input different forms of revenue or expenses. In the overview section there is a graph of your expenses from all of your accounts over the last month. The graph is color-coded by account and shows the date and the amount of money spent. A couple of pie charts show you the total expenses and balances of each account. This is a nice way visually to see how all your money is allocated. If needed, it is very easy to go back and edit any of your entries. Moneybag also allows you to password encrypt all your data, if safety and privacy is a concern.

Another cool feature in Moneybag includes support for 65 different currencies. For example, if your account is in the United States and you stay in a hotel in Canada, the app will convert your expense from the Canadian dollar to the US Dollar.

Although there are some good features in this app, there are a few missing that I hope will be added in a future update. It would be nice to see more categories or the option to create a custom category. When you input an expense, you are prompted to choose a category to file it in. Currently, there are only 11 to choose from, which do not cover many types of expenses. When you add a new entry, you have to designate whether it is revenue or expense by using the plus or minus sign on the calculator. I think it would be easier to make this designation prior to the entry. Also, when you input entries, you have to hide the keyboard in order to access the calculator. I continually tried to use my numbers on my iPad keyboard, which did not work. The calculator is hidden behind the keyboard, so it would be nice to have the keyboard disappear automatically when entering this part of the app.

The developer says there are more updates to come, which will hopefully include some of these and even more. Overall, Moneybag has some promising features and is very easy to use.
