April 21, 2011
In its first quarter as an iPhone 4 reseller, Verizon sold 2.2 million units, according to its latest financial reports. This compares to 3.6 units sold at rival AT&T over the same time period.
In the January 1-March 31, 2011 time period, the nation’s top wireless provider saw its revenue jump to $5.5 billion. Meanwhile, Verizon’s total wireless service revenue, year over year, increased 6 percent.
With 104 million wireless customers, Verizon is the nation’s top wireless provider. That will change once AT&T’s takeover of T-Mobile is completed later this year.
