Violet's Bunny Trouble - Interactive Storybook ($2.99) by My Black Dog Books, LLC is an interactive storybook your kids will adore. Trust me, it's going to be love at first sight. This special edition of the Violet series has great seek-and-find elements that will challenge their egg-finding abilities.
The central character in this story, Violet, changes into a mysterious hero when she sees a problem that needs fixing, and she wants your child's help for the task.
Violet's Bunny Trouble explores what happens when Violet and her classmates go on a hunt for their missing class bunny. While they search, they stumble on Easter eggs the bunny has left behind. There are four Easter eggs hidden on each page - your child is challenged to find all four.
The interactive nature of this book was a hit with my three-year-old. She kept yelling, "Find them! Eggs!" and was delighted when she uncovered them in the story. The eggs are cleverly hidden and sometimes even challenging. Once one is found, it is fully interactive (toss it on the screen, bounce it, etc).
Once the bunny is finally recovered by Violet and her classmates, they need to build the bunny a new cage. Your child is asked to assemble it - this is a fun interactive addition.
There are a few things I'd like to see ironed out in future updates: 1) There's a bit of a glitch that causes flickering with the animated bits in the story (the sun is rotating, and causes a lot of flickering on the home page), and 2) I'd like for the voice over to improve - the reader's tone and voice inflection is much the same throughout the whole story.
Violet's Bunny Trouble is not a stand-alone book. It's one of an adorable series all about Violet - a young girl with a helpful nature who disguises herself when she comes upon a mystery she wants to solve.
