Say What? White iPhone To Debut At End Of Month - Report
April 14, 2011
Bloomberg Businessweek is reporting Apple will begin selling a white iPhone 4 within the next few weeks through both AT&T and Verizon. If confirmed, this would contradict news reported just last week, which indicated the long-delayed white iPhone 4 was canceled for good.
In order to complete this story, Bloomberg says it contacted “three people familiar with the plans,” each who asked not to be identified.
White has long been a color choice for Apple handheld products, going back to the first iPod in 2001. The iPhone 3GS was available in the color, as is the current iPad 2.
The white iPhone 4 was supposed to arrive with its black counterpart in June 2010. However, it was delayed numerous times because of production issues.
According to Bloomberg Businessweek:
Adding a white model to the black-only lineup may help spur demand before Apple can release the next generation of its top- selling product. Apple, the world’s largest technology company by market capitalization, isn’t planning to unveil a new iPhone at its June developers’ conference, the occasion for previous launches, two people familiar with the matter said.So instead of an iPhone 5 in June, we're getting a white iPhone 4? Very interesting, if true. What are your thoughts? Leave your comments below.
