Official Adobe Touch SDK Apps Finally Land On The App Store, Compatible With Photoshop CS5

May 10, 2011
Remember this? If you don't, go read Bryan's post for a quick refresher. Then come right back, because today -- exactly one week since its original expected push -- Adobe is finally dropping their three big Photoshop Touch SDK apps. Adobe Eazel, Adobe Nav, and Adobe Color Lava are available right now in the App Store, and they promise to open up a world of fresh utility for those already running Photoshop CS5 12.0.4 or newer.

While Apple's relationship with Adobe has been adversarial in recent years, it's great to see the latter so open to embracing iOS. Sure, we won't get Flash on our iDevices any time soon (read, "ever"), but many of us use Adobe's flagship image editing software, too. And with all signs indicating that these sorts of Adobe interface apps are just the beginning, we can really look forward to getting creative on the big and little screen alike. Of the released trio, the most immediately useful seems to be Adobe Nav. However, anyone who can afford to own a legitimate copy of Photoshop CS5 can undoubtedly afford to drop the requisite $10 to grab all three. (Otherwise, this bit of fun will set you back over $700. And remember, these apps are iPad-only, so it might cost even more. Yowzers!) I have yet to install CS5 on my machine, but someone among you must be ready to try this stuff out. Tell us your impressions in the comments, and send us some artwork, too. Right now, all we have to look at are these pretty blue icons...
