Bank Of America's New iPad App Allows You To Manage Your Bank Accounts While On The Go

If you are a Bank of America customer who is also the proud owner of an iPad, you'll be happy to know that the banking giant has finally released a mobile banking app designed just for you; although it's missing a couple of important features.
Bank of America for iPad features an optimized interface that allows you to manage your many accounts with relative ease. The main overview screen displays all of your current Bank of America and Merrill Lynch investment accounts, complete with up to the minute balances. Tapping on any one of them will bring up a new window that displays a full breakdown of your selected account with options to pay bills, view history, and transfer funds between accounts.
The new iPad app also helps you stay on top of your finances with an enhanced calendar view, which allows you to see your eBills, and schedule transfers and payments by simply tapping on a future date.
If you are in a new area and need quick access to some funds, you can tap on the tiny location icon in the lower left corner of the screen, which will find all nearby ATM and banking centers based on your current location.
Unlike a handful of other mobile banking apps, however, the new Bank of America app doesn't allow you to deposit checks using the built-in camera. It also doesn't provide you with access to check images, allow you to set up balance alerts, and worse, doesn't give you access to mortgage accounts. Mortgage account balances are displayed on the main overview screen, however.
Bank of America has indicated that a revamped version of their iPhone app will be hitting the App Store early this year, which hopefully means new features will be coming to the iPad version as well.
Bank of America for iPad is now available in the App Store for free. You must be enrolled in Bank of America's Online Banking program in order to utilize this app.
