Animal Phone is an interactive educational app that lets your child's imagination run wild by allowing them to make realistic phone calls to different animals. Calls can be made from the main screen, or you can go button mashing on the keypad and hear different animal sounds. Pressing the "Call" button will bring up a realistic looking calling screen, and eventually an animal will pick up on the other end.
When spoken to, animals will repeat what you say in their own tone of voice. They can also express themselves with over 50 sayings and animations by either tapping on them or just waiting for them to speak.
Animal Phone was first released on April 21, 2011 and is already sitting in the #13 spot in the Top Free Education Apps chart. The app comes with one animal to interact with, Graham Gorilla, but more can be downloaded via in-app purchase for anywhere from $.99 to $1.99. The best part is, you won't have to worry about your child making accidental purchases after you have handed your iPhone off for the day because Animal Phone features a "child lock," which requires them to press buttons numerous times while also making sounds to warn you.
