Chillingo Unleashes Orions 2: The Deckmasters For iPhone

May 19, 2011
Orions 2: The Deckmasters is finally out for the iPhone. The game is a sequel to the hit fantasy and strategy card game, Orions: Legend Of Wizards. The game mixes a couple of different elements into a unique package. If you enjoy match-3, card, strategy, or even role-playing games, you should definitely try this game. A good way to describe this game is that it's a combination of Magic: The Gathering card games, and Warlords on the PC. In Orions 2, you can build decks (instead of relying on random ones assigned to you), play drafts and challenges, as well as engage in a story-based campaign mode. There is a strategy element to the gameplay because it isn't just based on decks of cards you can use in battle. You can also build structures, and there are even resources at your disposal. Orions 2 features online multiplayer to battle it out with rivals and friends alike. This way you can truly test your skills with your decks. The game is also based on a fantasy setting with wizards and warriors roaming around. If you enjoy this type of environment you will find the Orions series to have a top-notch presentation. This time around there are an additional 100 new cards to use along with over 120 new creatures and spells. Here are some other things to look forward to this time around (from the app description):
  • Huge variety of spells, cards and tactical choices
  • Deep, varied and strategic gameplay
  • Take part in a variety of Duel Modes, including single duel, customized deck, draft and challenge!
  • Play online via Wi-Fi or 3G with anyone in the world, or locally on one device!
  • Atmospheric soundtrack
Orions 2 is currently available on the NZ App Store for $4.19, which should translate to USD $2.99.
