Companions Hits The iPad

May 29, 2011
A new tactical RPG with dungeon-crawling gameplay has hit the App Store for the iPad. Companions lets you control four characters as you face hordes of monsters and enemies of various sizes and shapes. The game has a top-down perspective, and the combat is somewhat similar to WRPGs like the Baldur's Gate series. The four warriors that you will be controlling on this journey include: 1. The mighty Minotaur Warrior 2. The agile Elf Archeress 3. The ingenious Dwarf Builder 4. The powerful Human Mage The game takes place in the fictitious world of Atland and you will be battling through dungeons in order to face a dark god named Detexx. This evil god wants to plunge Atland into eternal darkness and with your help the four heroes have to stop him. The heroes begin this quest in the catacombs of Mentzel. The game has a lot going for retro-WRPG fans and those gamers looking for a deeper role-playing experience than most App Store offerings that have tactical battles and dungeon crawling involved.
