Cyan Worlds Releases Bug Chucker For iPhone And iPad
May 11, 2011
Cyan Worlds, best known for creating the world-renowned Myst and Riven, have released Bug Chucker for iOS, a brand new physics-based artillery game where you must defend the Galactic Bugship S.S. Treehugger and its precious cargo from the Sawz attack.
In each of Bug Chucker's 42 levels, you are required chuck loads of different bugs through space in hopes of crashing into the evil robotic Sawz that lurk behind planets, force fields, and debris. You don't always have to achieve a direct hit though, as floating debris can weaken and even destroy Sawz.
Chucking bugs is accomplished by simply dragging your finger from the launcher towards your target and releasing. Since the battle against the Sawz takes place in space, you'll have to utilize the gravitational pull from surrounding planets and black holes to take out your enemies before your bug supply is exhausted.
Bug Chucker starts you off with the most basic of bugs, which in this case is the ladybug, but as you progress you'll be provided with more advanced bugs like beetles, grasshoppers, and mosquitoes, each of which have their own special ability. Think Angry Birds' different colored birds.
The game features star ratings for each level, the ability to skip a total of two levels, a left-handed mode, and Retina support. Cyan Worlds has also indicated that more levels, in the form of a new galaxy, will be arriving sometime in the future.
Bug Chucker for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad is now available in the App Store for the introductory price of $.99.
