Enchanted Canvases Will Bring Out The Detective In You
Treasure Seekers 2: The Enchanted Canvases ($4.99) by G5 Entertainment is the sequel to Treasure Seekers: Visions of Gold. This mystery-puzzler is a charming game with the potential to suck you in for hours.
The very first thing I noticed when I began playing the HD version was just how beautiful and crisp the graphics are. It truly stands out in a plethora of "HD" apps.
The game starts out by setting up the story. It is possible to skip this part, but it's best if you read so you will understand better what our mission is. In short, Nelly is on a mission to find and rescue her brother from captivity in a Romanian castle. The story is engaging and keeps you involved.
I have played some mystery stories that are difficult to keep up with and leave you hanging and frustrated. Treasure Seekers 2 does a good job of giving you "task" reminders, hints and thorough dialogue. You can also choose from easy or difficult modes.
The puzzles start off somewhat simple in order to ease you into the process. Things get progressively more challenging. The story is thoroughly woven into the puzzles so there isn't too much stretching it to make the two elements mesh.
My biggest complaint with the gameplay is this: I wish there were optional voice overs There is a lot of dialogue and it would be nice to have the option to listen to it sometimes. It would bring the story more to life.
