Fahrenheit/Celsius Weather App Gets Its First Update

Fahrenheit/Celsius Weather App Gets Its First Update

May 5, 2011
Fahrenheit, the new weather app that puts the current temperature on your iDevice’s home screen, has received its first update. Version 1.1 includes one feature customers have been asking for, plus a number of improvements. Created by International Travel Weather Calculator, Fahrenheit (and the separate Celsius app) arrived in April with much praise. This is because it is the only weather app for iOS that displays the current temperature on an iDevice’s home page. Its developers are able to do this by using a number (not the actual temperature) using Apple’s notification system. In other words, it is done without breaking Apple’s guildlines. The new update includes a dark skin option, which was “requested and demanded very often,” according to a message on iTunes. In addition, the update includes:
  • You can now use the slider in the maps to change the time of the map by hand!
  • Better push mechanism for the temperature in the icon badge
  • Corrected Windspeeds
  • Small bug fixes
  • Added more help sections
Fahrenheit and Celsius are impressive apps. Each is available in the App Store for $.99. Current users can download the update for free using iTunes. For more information on Fahrenheit, please check out our recent review.
