Go Fetch Dog Pile From The App Store!

May 8, 2011

Dog Pile ($0.99) by ArtWitz Design and JoshOClock lets you launch dogs into a pinball style action game; when you pile them you earn points! Dog Pile is a matching game with a refreshing twist, and it's fun for all ages. Get your canines ready for an addictive adventure!

To play, use the swipe controls to set your dog in motion. The dog will tumble through the game board, picking up bones, hitting objects to gain points and avoiding obstacles. There are integrated tilt controls as you move your pooch through the board, although they are not very dramatic. Your dog will tumble down and land in the “Dog Pile.” Match your dog up with the same dogs in the pile and they disappear. The object is to have all the dogs match and disappear from the game.

You can customize your dog pack from the integrated store, using points you earn during the game. You may also buy more dog bones to keep your canines happy, along with silly items like hats and eyewear. This is a nice feature because it motivates you to score more points. The graphics are very cute and the music is fun and upbeat. There are also some cute sound effects that the dogs make as they tumble through the game.

Dog Pile is not universal; if you want the game for your iPhone and the HD version for your iPad, you will have to purchase both. There is a free HD iPad version, however it does come with ads.

The developer says that Game Center integration will come in an update, along with more levels. It will be nice to see some more levels added, as this game is quite addictive. There is some replay value in the existing levels, but most game players enjoy trying new things.

Dog Pile is a wonderful little game for everyone in the family. Young or old, this is a must-have in your games list.

Leave a comment or retweet and win your very own copy of the paid iPhone version. There is more than one to give away! Contest ends Friday, May 13, at 11:59 p.m. CDT. Winners will be notified soon thereafter.
