We’ve received another report that the next-generation iPhone will include an eight megapixel camera. This news comes from Taiwan-based, DigiTimes quoting industry sources. According to the report, Largan Precision sees the eight megapixel module replacing the five megapixel module as the “mainstream for smartphones in the third quarter of 2011 due to possible orders from Apple.” Taiwan-based Largan already supplies the five megapixel lenses for the iPhone 4, as well as the cameras for the iPad 2. The next-generation handset, dubbed the iPhone 4S or iPhone 5 should arrive sometime in 2011.
