iOS Apps Gone Free: HDR Foto, X-Memory, Chop Chop Ninja HD, And More

May 19, 2011

Take HDR photos, test your memorization skills, and take control of a little ninja on a big journey with today's AGF list.

All app prices are subject to change at any time and without notice regardless of stated free duration. Price changes are solely under the control of the developers.

iPhone:

HDR Foto ($.99 -> Free, 11.5 MB): An HDR photography app that features an automatic mode as well as a manual mode to help you take the perfect picture. It also features an optional grid, true 32-bit HDR workflow, a myriad of editing options and filters, and three sharing options.

HDR Foto is available for free for a limited time. It has a 5-star rating with a total of 16 ratings.

Platform Hell Pro ($.99 -> Free, 9.5 MB): A classic platform game with an intentionally over the top color scheme. You simply have to collect all of the diamonds to unlock the door in each level, and if you do it quickly, you will be awarded with a gold medal. The game features 50 levels, all kinds of different enemies, and Game Center integration.

Platform Hell Pro is available for free today only (05/19). It has a 4-star rating with a total of 8 ratings.

X-Memory ($.99 -> Free, 17 MB): Letters, animals, or shapes fly across the screen, and it's up to you to remember all of them and pick them out of a lineup before time expires. Other bonus objects are thrown into the mix as well, and tapping on them while memorizing the other objects will earn you additional points. The game features over 200 graphics objects, unlimited levels, Retina graphics, and OpenFeint integration.

X-Memory is available for free today only (05/19). It has a 5-star rating with a total of 4 ratings.

Chop Chop Ninja ($2.99 -> Free, 41.8 MB): Guide Iron-san, the cute little ninja, through 10 different environments and save the emperor's daughter in this side-scrolling beat 'em up game. You are able to take out enemies and climb, jump, fly, bounce off of walls, and push objects using only one finger. The game also features hidden objects to collect, special attacks, and OpenFeint integration.

Chop Chop Ninja is available for free today only (05/19). It has a 4-star rating with a total of 4,481 ratings. Universal:

Tracing Paper ($.99 -> Free, 1.6 MB): We featured Tracing Paper in an AGF list earlier this month, but since then it has received a significant update which adds the following: gallery mode for iPhone, the ability to rotate and crop your trace image, the ability to place your trace image anywhere, print support, additional grid settings, up to eight undos, and better Retina support.

Tracing Paper is available for free until May 21st. It has a 3-star rating with a total of 112 ratings. iPad:

Chop Chop Ninja HD ($4.99 -> Free, 55.9 MB): Like the iPhone version above, but with iPad-optimized graphics and controls.

Chop Chop Ninja HD is available for free today only (05/19). It has a 3.5-star rating with a total of 85 ratings. Developers: If you are a developer who would like to get your app included in our “Apps Gone Free” daily lists, here’s our basic set of rules:
  • It must have at least a three-star average rating at the time it goes free.
  • The app must not have been free numerous times (3+) over the last six months.
  • The free version of your app must not include ads.
To submit an app, simply send a request to tyler@appadvice.com with the subject “Apps Gone Free.” Please include the name of the app, a link to it in the App Store, when and for how long you intend to offer the app for free, and anything else you would like to share. We will take it from there.
