Lightning McQueen Came To Life On An iPad 2

Disney and Pixar’s next masterpiece, Cars 2, opens in just a few weeks. Can you guess which iDevice was instrumental in bringing the movie to the screen? Yep, the iPad 2, according to Reuters. Cars 2 is the brainchild of John Lasseter, the chief creative officer for Disney and Pixar. He also happens to be “an old chum” of the Apple CEO, Steve Jobs, who is also a Disney stockholder. In order to complete work on the sequel to the 2006 blockbuster, Cars, Lasseter reviewed “scenes, pictures and clips on his lime-green iPad 2.” He stated:
“I would get everything on the iPad and it was fantastic to be able to look at stuff. What I am able to do in an hour’s review on my iPad, we estimate it is equivalent to three hours of review time at Pixar. Cars2 cannot have been made without the Apple iPad.”
Lasseter also commented he used the iPhone 4’s voice memo feature to send notes and email comments. Now, where do we get a lime-green iPad 2, or was Lasseter referring to the green Smart Cover? Cars 2 opens in the U.S. on June 24, 2011. Check out this preview:
