Lechuza For iPad Hits The App Store

May 15, 2011
If you grew up playing late-80s and 90s PC games you may be familiar with the point-and-click adventure genre. The genre had a few especially well-made games that used the survival horror theme like the Alone in the Dark Series. A new iPad game just came out that looks to reinvent this style of play, and mixes horror storytelling, mystery puzzle solving, and point-and-click adventure gaming on the iPad's gorgeous screen. The game is Lechuza. The storyline of Lechuza is that an art dealer named Jeff Rodrick comes across an old painting that happens to be missing some figurines in the frame. In order for him to make a nice profit he decides to go to the previous owner's home and search for them. However, soon Jeff realizes that he got more than he bargained for when something goes terribly wrong. This game will have you finding and picking up items to use in order to solve clever puzzles via a point-and-click style of play. You will also be exploring the old house and finding clues about your adventure. Some other varieties of puzzles are mixed in, there are also mini games such as a guessing game and one that requires putting items in the proper order. If you are a fan of any of the Big Fish Games hidden-object offerings, or the various Telltale Games adventure titles on the App Store, you should check out Lechuza. The game is currently available for the iPad on the App Store for only $1.99.
