Maxim's "Hot 100" Issue Arrives On iPad App For First Time

It’s getting hot out there and the sun isn’t causing it. Rather, Maxim Magazine, for the first time, has released its annual “Hot 100” issue on the iPad. As a special offer for iDevice owners, this issue is arriving one week before its print edition. The annual “Hot 100” issue is a longtime staple for Maxim going back to 2000. It presents “the definitive list of the world’s most beautiful women” from No. 100 to No. 1. Naturally, its list is subjective and changes yearly. Although actress Cameron Diaz is on the front cover of the June 2011 issue, she isn’t the “hottest” woman on the list. That title goes to British model and actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Diaz must settle for No. 4. Past winners include Katy Perry (No. 3 this year), Olivia Wilde (15), and troublemaker Lindsay Lohan (38). Although most readers will be happy enough seeing photos of each woman, the geeks in us will expect more. The issue lacks interactivity. For example, don’t expect interviews or additional pics. Plus, don't expect videos for all but a handful of those making the list. Still, according to Appolicious Advisor, Maxim must be doing something right. After all, 50,000 downloads are recorded each month across various mobile platforms. This includes 10,000 on Apple iDevices.
