There's An App For Your.... Cat?

As more and more apps get released for iOS devices, it becomes increasingly more difficult to create unique ideas. Apps are being used in new ways, even as a means of brand promotion. Developers are racing to produce apps that push the boundaries. Friskies has done just that in an effort to reach their customers and cat owners. Friskies, the cat food company, thought outside the box when it came to developing  iPad apps. They also caught the media's attention in a good way. These apps will really entertain your cat. They might also entertain you as a result. How did they do this? And why would you consider letting your pet near your shiny new iPad? First, the apps are not native iOS applications that you'll find on the App Store. They are web apps developed using HTML5 and CSS3. The apps use great new technologies that are replacing flash animation. The Friskies web apps are: Cat Fishing, Tasty Treasures Hunt, and Party Mix-Up. They are a cat's dream! The games are pretty simple, yet fun. Cat Fishing is just that. It appears as though you are looking down on a pond and the fish swim to the top and around the screen. Your cat tries to paw at the fish to catch them and increase their score. The second one is Tasty Treasures Hunt. The cat simply paws at the tasty images of chicken, turkey, and fish as they dance around the screen. As your feline friend paws the items, their score increases. Last, and this is almost mean, in a funny way, is Party Mix-Up. On the screen, tiny cat treats float around. As your cat paws at the treats they multiply. [gallery link="file" orderby="title"]
