The basic idea is that you choose which languages you want to translate to and from, and then simply point your iPhone’s camera at the word you wish to translate. The Google-powered app translates each word, one at a time. It can be tedious if you’re trying to translate long paragraphs, but for reading signs or menus in a foreign land, it can be quite useful. Plus it’s just plain cool to use. Unlike most translation apps, you don’t need to type anything. This is especially handy when you’re dealing with a language that uses different characters/letters than yours.
Translate back and forth between the nine included languages: Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Korean, French, German, Italian, Spanish, and English.
Worldictionary is compatible with the iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4. For this particular promo code contest, you must have a US iTunes account to enter, because this was not a developer promo code.
