Yahoo! Messenger Adds Essential Tricks For iPad 2 Users

The universal Yahoo! Messenger app has been updated. Version 2.1 includes an iPad-optimized layout and more. Created by Yahoo!, the messaging app lets friends connect using Yahoo for real-time voice and video chats, free text messages, and photo sharing. Its latest update is significantly improved for iPad and iPad 2 owners. First, the app finally offers a genuine native iPad UI. In horizontal mode, the app shows a user’s buddy list on the left side of the screen. On the right is the main chat window used to send text or photos. For iPad 2 users, voice and video calling are also now available. Both services appear to work on both Wi-Fi and 3G. According to its iTunes page, Yahoo! Messenger Voice is available on the iPhone/iPod touch, and iPad. Video, on the other hand, is available for the iPhone 3GS/4, iPod touch 4, and iPad 2. Also included:

• Improved spam management: block one or all add requests from a single view
• Fixed multiple bugs including the unexpected sign-out issue

The free Yahoo! Messenger app is available in the App Store.
