A Chance To Win A Monster Soup Promo Code With A Retweet Or Comment

June 24, 2011
AppAdvice has teamed up with the Kieffer Bros. in order to offer you a chance to win one of four promo codes for Monster Soup ($.99) for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. Monster Soup may look like your everyday matching game on the surface, but once you get your paws on it, which I hope you do, you'll quickly realize how much thought went into the gameplay to ensure it stands out from the rest and keeps you coming back for more. In Monster Soup, your main objective is to match at least two same-colored monsters by simply dragging your finger over them in order to clear them from the board before they settle in at the top of the screen. If the little monsters sit too long at the top they will be encapsulated in ice, effectively shrinking your play area. You need a clear path to match your monsters, and a light blue highlight will surround them indicating which have already been selected. The more monsters you match at a time, the quicker the meter at the top of the screen fills up, allowing you to move on to the next level. The first few levels start out rather slowly, allowing you to create large chains, while the later levels can and will become very hectic. The trick to obtaining a huge score is by creating chains. Matching five or more of the same monsters will provide you with a temporary power-up, and each monster has their very own, allowing you to strategically plan your matches. Green monsters create a beach ball, which can be used to build chains of different colored monsters. Blue monsters create a warp clock, slowing down the flow of monsters for a limited time. Pink monsters provide you with a bonus multiplier. Red monsters create a bomb that floats upwards and removes everything around it when it explodes. Finally, yellow monsters create a starshine, which melts away ice. Matching five same-colored monsters will provide you with a weaker power-up, while matching nine or more will give you the most powerful one. Monster Soup features Game Center leaderboards and achievements along with full stat tracking, so you can see just how much of your free time has been sunk into uniting colorful monsters.
