Breaking News: iOS 5 Will Be PC-Free [Details Added]
June 6, 2011
In one of the most significant announcements of the day, Apple announced that it would no longer require uses to attach their iDevices to a PC or Mac to sync. That's correct: Apple is cutting the cord!
The service, which is part of iOS 5, is called PC Free. It allows users to activate and setup iDevices wirelessly, right out of the box. Then, when iOS updates are available, they will automatically download to your iDevice.
Finally, PC Free allows users to edit photos or add email folders on an iPhone or iPad, without the need for a Mac or PC.
Like iOS 5 itself, this feature will debut this fall.
