British Airlines Adding iPads To Its Entertainment Offerings

June 6, 2011
The next time you take to the skies, an iPad could be waiting for you at your seat. British Airlines is starting a pilot program that provides its customers with in-flight entertainment courtesy one of Apple’s tablets, in news first reported by Australian Business Traveler. As part of upcoming refurbishments of its first class cabins on its fleet of Boeing 777s, BA will be giving passengers a choice between a portable DVD player and iPad for use during the flight. According to BA spokeman Tobias Klitsch:
"We are currently exploring possibility of introducing iPads to enhance customer experience. (However, we’re) still working through the detail."
It will be interesting to see if BA’s plans spread to other airlines and how quickly it will be before the iPad makes its way to business and economic class as well. Of course, if you have an iPad already, it doesn’t matter how much you pay for your airline ticket. What do you think? Leave your comments below.
