Donald In Magicland Comes To iPhone

A new platformer with charming visuals has just been released for the iPhone and it's called Donald in Magicland. The game features classic retro-style 2D platforming with 13 hand-drawn levels. There are also a total of 15 enemy types in the game.
Although the bare-bones game seems pretty light on levels and features thus far, lets hope the game gets updated with more. League of Evil was also shallow at first, but now it's a great App Store offering after getting two massive updates.
Donald in Magicland has great potential with its visual style and aesthetics. It is worth checking out if you are a fan of App Store platformers like Castle of Magic. The story is the standard Mario-esque affair of saving a princess. However, the character names and roles seem to be quite amusing. The game has Donald pitted against Roland. Here is the background story (from the app description):
The plot revolves around Donald, the little wizard, who sets out to save princess Laura, king Harold's daughter and sole heir. Laura has been kidnapped by the dark wizard Ronald and taken to his castle far away from Harold's kingdom. Now Donald has to cross great distances, discover new lands and battle multitudes of mystical creatures sent before him by Ronald, all in an attempt to save Laura and restore peace in his kingdom once again.The game appears to be inspired by Mario quite a bit, and not just with its storyline. From the screenshots the levels appear quite similar as well. For example, a lava level with castle-style layouts. Whether this game is inspired by Mario or not, the visual style does make it stand out among iOS platformers. You can check out Donald in Magicland on the App Store for $.99.
