Feed Me Oil Hits The App Store

June 2, 2011
Feed Me Oil, along with the iPad version called Feed Me Oil HD, have just hit the App Store. This is really a beautiful-looking puzzle game with a far out art style -- far out in a good sense. The visual style is just surreal. Each creature seems like it was designed with their own character. The game may appear similar to World of Goo in terms of some of the visuals, and it is also a puzzler. However, don't let that fool you. Feed Me Oil changes the game formula quite a bit. Instead of manipulating goo balls, you will be designing a pathway for oil to drain from. It also appears more colorful and vibrant. The game is based on various strange creatures, throughout multiple levels, that need you to help feed them. And, these creatures feed on oil, hence the title. The whole objective is for the broken pipe, that the oil comes out of, to drain into the mouths of these creatures. You will have to utilize various tools, like magnets and fans, in order to do this. Some other game features Feed Me Oil includes are (from the app description):
  • A huge variety of mind bending levels
  • Different ways to solve each puzzle
  • Incredibly slick and realistic physics
  • Unique, surreal art design
  • Use fans, magnets, wind, rotating platforms and more!
  • Crystal and Game Center enabled
If you enjoyed World of Goo or like puzzle games in general, give Feed Me Oil a try. The art style alone is worth checking out. Feed Me Oil is available on the iPhone for $.99. Feed Me Oil HD is available on the iPad for $1.99.
