The app opens on a not-so blank canvas. Your backdrop consists of a faint speckling of stars that starts your creation. You can choose your backdrop from one of 10 space-based images. Once you have set your backdrop you can begin creating your universe by adding stars, planets, nebulae, galaxies, lens flares and black holes. You can even add pictures from your iPad’s photo library for extra fun.
Not only can you place stars and galaxies, but you can even draw with them. If you select a star, for example, and drag your finger across the screen, many stars will be placed along the path you draw. The slower you drag your finger, the more stars appear. You can also adjust the size, opacity and blend of your elements for a full range of options.
Overall, this app is a fun alternative to traditional painting and drawing apps. You can experiment with over 100 pre-made objects and let your imagination run wild.
