Feed Me Oil ($0.99) by Chillingo Ltd is a mind bending puzzle game that will challenge your logic skills and knowledge of physics. Use bars, magnets, fans and more to direct the oil from a broken pipe into the mouth of an oil hungry creature. Whether you call it black gold, Texas tea or bubbling crude, it is interesting that Feed Me Oil is the first popular game that incorporates one of the world’s biggest commodities.

When you begin, you may wonder if this game was inspired by the recent oil tragedy in the Gulf of Mexico. Although it is a fun and silly game, one cannot help but think there may have been a slight influence from this worldwide environmental concern. Putting all that aside and looking at the game itself, it is actually quite fun.

On each level, you are given specific objects to place between a broken oil pipe and the mouth of a creature. These objects will aid in the flow of oil allowing it to travel in the proper direction. If they are not placed just right, the oil will flow to other places, instead of the creature’s mouth. Feed Me Oil runs a tutorial alongside your gameplay during the first few levels, this is helpful since there are no specific game instructions built into the app.

Feed Me Oil gets trickier as you move through the various levels. You are given more objects to work with and more challenging placements. There are helpful hints along the way in case you are stumped. These hints are fairly obvious, as they will basically tell you exactly where to place the object. The fewer hints you use, the more points you earn on that level. There are multiple ways you can solve each puzzle, so the replay value is high.

The music is snazzy and changes with each level. Hopefully you will get through the levels quickly, as the tracks do get a little repetitive. The graphics are clever, both with the various creatures, and the flow of oil. It actually looks like thick flowing oil as it comes down the screen. This is reminiscent of the game World of Goo.

Feed Me Oil has 147 mind twisting levels, with more coming soon. There are also some bonus levels that are unlocked after a specific number of stars are obtained from the previous levels. Feed Me Oil includes Game Center and Crystal network support and is available for iPhone, and in HD for the iPad.

Feed Me Oil is enjoyable for all ages and is great for those who like physics and logic puzzles.
