Hand-Drawn Monsters Are Loose In This "Bejeweled" Style Game
Monster Doodle HD (Free) by Tofu Apps is a quick and easy to play version of Bejeweled 2. Hand-drawn monsters occupy a grid on a graphing paper background. You have to select three adjacent monsters of a kind to eliminate them from the grid, and then the monsters disappear as ghosts. Gameplay is fast- paced as the timer quickly counts down.
What’s neat about this game is that the monsters don’t necessarily need to be in a straight line vertically or horizontally. Monsters in an “L” pattern are fair game as long as they're connected. Diagonal lines don't count.
While you can eliminate any similar monsters lined up, each level has a specific monster selected to be your target. Eliminating that monster will score you points. Monsters other than the targeted one will take away your points. Sometimes, though, getting rid of the non-target monsters becomes necessary in order to get to the others. A house icon will eliminate all monsters of a random color.
Overall, this game has little to offer that's different from Bejeweled, or any similar games. The hand-drawn graphics are nice, but that’s about all this game really has going for it. The “HD” suffix seems to be incorrect, since this app is only available for the iPhone. However, it is a quick play and free, so there’s not much risk in trying it out.
