iOS Apps Gone Free: Pig Shot, Phone Drive, Paper Pilots, And More

Slingshot pigs across a pasture, turn your iPhone or iPod touch into a portable storage device, and guide paper planes and cranes to their landing spots with today's AGF list.

iPhone:

The Mouth: Talking Doodles ($.99 -> Free, 10.2 MB): An entertainment app by the creators of Talking Carl that allows you to speak into your iDevice and it will repeat what you say in different voices. You can also interact with the doodle characters by tapping on different areas. The app features 12 different mouths, eyes, colors, accessories, and voices, which can be scrolled through by swiping left, right, up, and down.

The Mouth: Talking Doodles is available for free today only (06/03). It has a 4-star rating with a total of 9 ratings.

Paper Pilots ($1.99 -> Free, 23.1 MB): A line-drawing game that's very similar to Flight Control, except it features paper planes, bonuses to collect, and the ability to upgrade your planes. It also features a fast-forward button, five environments, over 100 different paper styles, and Game Center integration.

Paper Pilots is available for free today only (06/03). It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 16 ratings.

Slug Bugs ($.99 -> Free, 18.7 MB): The goal of the game is to tap on the cars that speed onto the screen before they have a chance to pass by. All of the cars are fair game except for the police car which, if tapped, will cause the game to end instantly. The game features multitouch support, and tapping more than one car at a time will award you with bonus points. It also features OpenFeint integration.

Slug Bugs is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4-star rating with a total of 40 ratings.

Phone Drive (+File Sharing) ($.99 -> Free, 3.9 MB): This extremely handy utility app turns your iPhone or iPod touch into a portable storage device. It features file transferring via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and USB. It also features the ability to edit files in a variety of ways, a passcode lock, the ability to view and listen to files, search, three layout options, and much more.

Phone Drive (+File Sharing) is available for free for a limited time. It has a 3.5-star rating with a total of 15 ratings. Universal:

Dead Raid ($.99 -> Free, 192.6 MB): A 3D first-person shooter that requires you to ward off zombies for as long as possible. It features awesome comic-style graphics, five different weapons, 30 backgrounds, gyroscope and touch controls, and Game Center integration.

Dead Raid is available for free today only (06/03). It has a 4-star rating with a total of 9 ratings.

Pig Shot ($.99 -> Free, 16.2 MB): A tilt-based distance game that has you slingshotting pigs across a pasture in order to try and obtain the highest score. Your pig loses steam as it rolls along, so you'll have to grab power-ups and get it to slingshots to keep moving forward. The game features two pigs to choose from, randomized environments, and Game Center integration.

Pig Shot is available for free today only (06/03). It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 70 ratings.

Crazy Snowboard ($.99 -> Free, 38 MB): An arcade snowboarding game that features Retina graphics, 30 missions, 13 riders to unlock, 13 boards to unlock, 16 tricks, destructible obstacles, and Game Center integration.

Crazy Snowboard received an update since we last featured it in AGF, which added a new "Wi-Fi Remote" option that allows you to use your iPhone or iPod touch as a controller.

Crazy Snowboard is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 127 ratings. iPad:

KIDSAPP HD: The Farm ($1.99 -> Free, 29.5 MB): An interactive entertainment app designed for young children. It allows them to hear sound effects by tapping on any one of the 26 professionally illustrated animals. Your child can also put together six different puzzles, and color in six different pictures. Finished artwork can be saved to your iPad's library as well.

KIDSAPP HD: The Farm is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 7 ratings. Developers: If you are a developer who would like to get your app included in our “Apps Gone Free” daily lists, here’s our basic set of rules:

  • The app must not have been free numerous times (3+) over the last six months.
  • The free version of your app must not include ads.
