Digital Poke's Meteoric Download Manager for iPhone and iPad is now available in the App Store, and to celebrate its release we are holding a mega giveaway in order to give those of you who weren't lucky enough to win a copy over the last week one final chance.
Meteoric is a fast and efficient download manager that allows you to grab almost any type of iOS playable content — even video — and play it back on your iDevice or wirelessly share it with your computer.
Tapping on a download link will usually cause Meteoric to bring up a new window that will allow you to rename your file before downloading. You can then jump to a new link and start downloading another file since the app allows simultaneous downloads, or you can jump out of the app and get on with your business since it supports background downloading.
If Meteoric doesn't automatically start downloading your file, you can always use one of the two manual methods. Simply tap and hold on a link or file to force a download, or head to the plugins menu at the bottom of the screen and tap on "List All Links," which will display all downloadable content in list form. Whether you have downloaded a video file, audio file, or text file, Meteoric allows you to preview or play it via a built in media player. The media player features background audio support and the ability to create playlists, which can come in handy if you have transferred files to your iDevice from your computer or want to stream audio over Wi-Fi. It even features the ability to push content to your Apple TV via Airplay.
Some of Meteoric‘s additional features include the ability to zip folders and unzip files, Dropbox support, password protection, and a full web browser, complete with the ability to save web pages with images, a wide variety of search engines to choose from, Firefox Sync support, plugins, history, and bookmarks.
