Norton "Online Family To Go" App Is A Mobile Control Station For Your Family Account

June 2, 2011
Norton, makers of the (in)famous AntiVirus suite, has just released its Online Family To Go beta for iPhone. To use the app, however, you must be enrolled in Norton's Online Family (free) or Online Family Premier ($30/yr.) services. For those unfamiliar with Online Family, it's essentially a watchdog program that lets you define or lock down any internet-based functions your children have access to on your home computer(s). Web, search, chat, and social network activities can all be monitored, and computer usage times can be set. With the premium package, automatic detailed reports can be emailed to the plan administrator, and up to 90 days of activity history is saved for perusal. These days, internet security means more than just protecting your system -- It means protecting your children from the myriad unsavory online influences present across the World Wide Web. And Norton's Online Family To Go app helps you do that, even when you're not home, by providing you mobile access to all of the service's regular features. Remember, the basic Norton service is free -- as is its companion app -- so give each a try to see if it's right for your family.
