Alpha Goals ($0.99) by TocoApps features the functionality of goal setting and progress monitoring that allows you to work toward your dreams.
Write what dream you would like to achieve and then upload a picture of what that dream would look like, steps for reaching it, and what daily habits will help (or hinder) your progress.
This app is similar to another app, Dream Quotes, though this one provides a cleaner design and allows for more elaboration in the larger text boxes. Where Dream Quotes focuses mainly on using quotes for inspiration, Alpha Goals goes more in-depth with its options. At $.99, it’s a dollar less than Dream Quotes as well.
The overall design is pleasing to look at. The mission page (main page) has a nice wood floor background with a place to provide a mission statement for yourself, tally boxes for how many goals you have and how many have been achieved, and it displays a new inspirational quote for each visit.
You can even make a contract with yourself for promising to work on achieving your goal. However, if you prefer, you can disable the contract in the app’s settings.
In addition to the the mission page, there are also pages for goal, pics, habits, and steps. The picture page takes advantage of the iOS multitouch gestures to size and orient the picture. You can even add another picture on top of that one, potentially creating a collage of your dream.
Color-coded tabs at the top of the app will take you to the different pages. A thin bar underneath the tabs changes color to reflect the selected tab.
Even the greatest journey begins with a single step. If you want to make your dreams a concrete reality, your first step is to download this app. Its visually appealing design and customization makes it the perfect tool for goal setting and reflection.
