The app comes with six songs to begin with. Select a song and begin to play. As the time-line moves along the screen, you must either tap once, tap and hold or tap and drag, depending on the icon. You are scored on your accuracy and ability to hit combo notes. The game is hard to play. There is no level adjustment, so you just have to keep trying until you get better. The best score I have been able to achieve so far was a D. Although the game only comes with six songs, you are able to import your own music by visiting the website: http://www.shanghaiotaku.com/fingermelody/editor.html and downloading a melody editor program to your home computer. The website gives you step-by-step instructions on how to add music and design your own tap-play song. Once you have created and saved your song, you can import it by adding it to the app in the file sharing section of your iTunes account. If you do not know how to do add files into apps in iTunes, there is information available on their website.

Overall, this game doesn’t seem like much until you take into account the fact that you can design your own game with your own music. If you have any level of computer know-how and a bit of patience, you could make this app into the most awesome music-based tap game ever. If you don’t feel confident in your creative ability, or don’t have time to design your own songs, this app may be too expensive for just the six songs included.
