Use Geometric Shapes To Score Points
STaCKaH ($0.99) by GamePlayHeaven is a unique name for this Tetris variant.
Falling geometric pieces need to be rotated and placed to complete lines in the play area. Gameplay starts slow at first, but speeds up as the levels progress. What makes this game different from Tetris is the addition of moving the pieces in a touchscreen environment.
Those familiar with Tetris will instantly know the rules for STaCKaH. As the different pieces fall down, you can either rotate them by tapping the screen, or vary their speed by dragging down toward the bottom.
Unlike Tetris, you can recover from an accelerated piece by slowing it before it connects with other pieces. You will need to complete a specific number of lines before moving to the next level. The main musical differences between these two games are the techno music in place of the traditional Russian tunes and the thumping effect produced by slamming a piece into the others.
If you're looking for an iPhone version of Tetris, then STaCKaH is for you. The aesthetic changes of the music and colors does little to make it an original game. If anything you might say "STaCKaH? What's that? Oh, it's just Tetris." But if you're waiting in a line, or just have some time to kill, it's a quick and entertaining game.
