Time Builders: Pyramid Rising - Challenge Your Mind As You Build Egypt

Pyramid Rising begins with a story that builds the foundation for the game. You have the option to skip the story, but I would not recommend that because it is important in understanding the purpose of the game.

One clever part of Pyramid Rising is how the story is threaded throughout the gameplay. While a level is loading, you are given a scroll to read that adds additional information to the plot. Often when games have a story, you forget it by the time you complete level one. This keeps you engaged in the plot throughout the entire game, which makes it neat.

Each level adds elements to your game of building a city. The first level is very basic; it consists of constructing huts. As the game progresses, you will be building rock quarries, upgrading homes, clearing roadblocks and more. You need to purchase workers and the supplies that are needed to build the huts. Your priests will collect the rent, and the more upgrades you've made on the huts, the more you are paid. Every time you complete a level within the time limit, you are given a Golden Scarab and earn a new building for your city.

The graphics are beautiful, almost as if you are watching a Dreamworks movie. The Egyptian music is appropriate for the game and helps you concentrate on all the quick thinking that is required.

This is one of those games where I felt like I had a good mind workout, although I was relaxed. It is one where you can escape into the adventure and easily forget what is going on around you.
