Twitter Ad Suggests Apple Partnership Coming

June 2, 2011
As expected, Twitter is adding photos to its social network. To do this, Twitter has partnered with Photobucket, which will host the photos behind the scenes, in news first revealed via the Twitter Blog. However, this doesn't mean a Twitter agreement with Apple isn't close at hand too for iDevices. In fact, it may be very close to becoming reality. Earlier this week, we noted Twitter would soon give users the ability to add photos to their streams without the need of a third-party service. At the time, much talk focused on some sort of Apple/Twitter agreement to do so. While that may still happen with iOS 5, this most recent announcement says nothing about such as partnership. Rather, the blog posting concentrates on Twitter's new partnership with Photobucket and primarily addresses desktop integration. The new Twitter photo component works in two ways. First, whenever you search for something or click on a trending topic, Twitter also shows related photos and videos directly on the results page, as shown above. Although this feature is exclusive to the Twitter website, it will also be added to the company’s official Twitter apps too. Twitter also indicates it will soon allow users to upload photos directly on Twitter.com and through smart devices. However, the specifics on this are missing, at least for the time being. And yet, Twitter released the following video that actually gives a lot away and suggests the Apple/Twitter integration, at least for iDevices. Take a look and note the device being used in the video:
