VideoBot Puts All Your Clips In The Right Spot
VideoBot Camera - Record, Organize & Search your videos. Professionals, students & casual users alike will love this app! ($1.99) by App Apps, LLC is an app designed to help you better organize your video clip collection. It features customizable shelves, tagging and notes.
It is no secret that iOS is sorely lacking when it comes to organizing the photos and videos taken with the devices. Without the assistance of connecting to iTunes to create your own folders there is no way to arrange or separate your media on the device.
VideoBot can assist you in at least organizing your videos in a neat and concise way. The app presents you with beautiful white shelves and it is up to you to populate them any way you please. Make as many different categories as you would like and add videos either by recording or from your camera roll.
If you opt to record new video, there are simple assists such as a rule of thirds overlay and timers to help you in your capture. Bringing clips from the camera roll allows you to label, tag and add notes to them. The tags can assist you in searching for the right video, especially if the number of titles starts to add up. You can later change any of the information by double-tapping the thumbnail or you can rearrange them with a drag and drop.
VideoBot is clean, simple and beautiful, but it really isn’t much else. It would be nice to see some extras such as simple video trimming, effects or multiple themes, especially for an app that currently costs more than a dollar.
Another minor issue I have (more towards all video organizing apps), is that a 16 or 32GB iPhone doesn’t store that many videos, especially when you want to save space for music, movies and apps. I would be much more willing to spend money on a Mac or PC program because I move all of my new video clips over every few months anyway.
If you want a video clip organizing app that is good looking and does a good job, VideoBot is a great choice. If you are satisfied with the built in storage system or moving your clips to your computer, you probably won’t be swayed to join the video categorizing party with this charming little app.
Are you looking for better ways to store your video clips on your iDevice or do you just organize them on your computer?
