AppAdvice has teamed up with Bob Shull in order to offer you a chance to win one of 10 promo codes for Detector Kit ($.99) for iPhone and iPod touch.
Detector Kit is a well designed novelty app that's able to help you make friends and family members believe almost anything by allowing you to control the results of a detector with a simple tilt of your hand. And hey, even if they don't believe the detector's results, you'll at least leave them wondering how in the heck you were able to pull off such a feat.
Detector Kit features a wide variety of detection types to choose from, some of which include nerdiness, beauty, and intelligence. If you can't find exactly what you're looking for, you can just add your own by tapping the small "Info" button in the top right corner of the screen and then "Edit Detection Types." In this menu you'll be able to not only add your own detection types, but also remove and reorder existing ones.
With your proper detection type in place, it's finally time to get on with the show. To manipulate the direction of the detector's needle, all you have to do is slightly tilt your iDevice whichever way you want it to go before hitting the scan button. Once you hit the scan button, your angle is locked into place and the needle will slowly move in the direction you tilted your iDevice.
It's important to reiterate that you only need to tilt your iDevice ever so slightly -- it's how you sell the trick, after all.
