Apple Releases iOS 5 Beta 4 (Updated)

July 22, 2011
Apple has just released iOS 5 beta 4 for developers and, for the first time, it includes over the air (OTA) updates. To be eligible, developers must already have iOS beta 3 installed. According to one of our sources, the OTA upgrade from beta 3 to 4 works seamlessly and very quickly. To upgrade directly from your iDevice, General > Software Update under settings. From there you should see this screen, which comes courtesy Razorianfly: We’ve heard Apple was going to begin testing OTA options for iDevices. However, this is the first beta release to include the feature. In addition, developers are asked to download the new iTunes 10.5 beta 4 (Mac) that also just went online. We’re still trying to figure out what is included in the new beta releases; when we do, we’ll let you know.
